This year the Center is celebrating 35 Years since opening its doors to the community and the people who make it special. Although the past 18 months have been a challenge for many, the Center is pleased to have opened its doors on May 3, 2021, and has continued to resume in-person programs and expand its offering of virtual programming.

Due to the changes in health and safety orders during the summer months, the Center, for a second year, is hosting a Virtual Tabemasho 2021, on Saturday, October 16, at 4:00 p.m. The program can be viewed HERE.

The program will feature a Community Members "Then and Now" Photo Gallery, a segment Celebrating Japantown Community Heroes and a video tribute to Marjorie Fletcher who is retiring after 31 years at the Center.

The primary fundraising component of Tabemasho 2021 will be our online auction, which will feature 150 items ranging from Board and Staff unique items and services, wine packages, gift certificates, Japanese home decor and ceramic wares.

The online auction will run from Friday, October 15 (6 PM) until Monday, October 25 (9 PM PST).  Please register to bid auctions at!

We are thankful to our donors for providing services and items that we hope you will enjoy. We are also accepting donations to help keep our doors open for all future generations. From all of us at the Center, we thank you for your support.

By donating an item or service, we will be working together in raising funds to better serve our community and fulfilling the Center's mission. Please email us at for more information.
