It is cut into triangles representing ice and topped with azuki beans.Tradition is that eating this sweet on June 30 will protect one from evil and bring relief from the intense summer heat. Ajisai Kinton is representative of the colorful summer hydrangea flower. It is made with strands of sweet bean paste with colorful kanten (agar agar) jewels on top.

Easy to follow recipes for the workshop will be provided in advance to all registrants. The workshop will be recorded and made available for registrants following the live session. Sign up for this virtual workshop and give making your own wagashi a try!
