Mochi is a traditional Japanese confectionary beloved by those lucky enough to get it fresh. It can also come in a variety of forms, shapes and textures, and now you can learn how to make it at home! We’re excited to launch our new quarterly virtual cooking class with our dessert mochi instructor and author of mochi cookbook Mochi Magic, Kaori Becker. Released by Storey Publishing in November 2020, Mochi Magic contains fifty modern mochi recipes for home chefs to delight friends and family alike. In our first quarterly virtual class, Kaori has chosen a theme of matcha green tea, and will teach you how to make three recipes from her Mochi Magic book flavored with the classic Japanese matcha tea flavor. Workshop Zoom login information, recipes and ingredients/supplies lists will be provided upon registration. About Kaori Becker:

Kaori Becker is the author of Mochi Magic and a cook specializing in Japanese cuisine. Growing up “hapa” (half-Japanese) in the Bay Area, she was drawn to her mother’s Japanese home cooking, especially sweets and baked goods. Together with her mother, Becker runs Kaori’s Kitchen, a Bay Area cooking school featuring popular mochi classes. Becker also co-owns The Mochi Shop in Columbus, Ohio.
