Location: the Center (in-person event)Join us for our special book event with author Maggie Tokuda-Hall as she speaks about the inspiration and emotions behind her new book Love in the Library. A true story, recounting her grandparents’ time in the Minidoka incarceration camp, Maggie memorializes her grandparents’ hopes, worries, and miraculous act of them falling in love, despite the backdrop of a place designed to make you feel inhuman.

Maggie Tokuda-Hall is the author of Also An Octopus, illustrated by Benji Davies, The Mermaid, The Witch, and The Sea, Squad, illustrated by Lisa Sterle, and Love in the Library, illustrated by Yas Imamura, with more books forthcoming.

She lives in Oakland, California with her husband, son, and objectively perfect dog.
