The Center is excited to host our next seasonal Asian American herbalism workshop with Yonsei acupuncturist and herbalist Erin Wilkins, owner of the Herb Folk shop in Petaluma, California. Registration includes a an elderberry elixir kit and moxibustion kit to take home!

This workshop will draw upon traditional wisdom and current trends for staying healthy with the seasons. Winter is a key time of year to cultivate your deep reserves of energy for a strong immune system, physical stamina and overall wellness throughout the entire year. Erin will lead this in person class on traditional Asian healing practices to support a healthy immune system during the Winter months. In this class you will learn:

  • Intro to traditional Asian wellness practices for the Winter season.
  • How to boost a healthy immune system with common East-West herbs, such as, elderberry, ginger, mugwort, astragalus, jujube dates, and reishi mushrooms.
  • Demonstration of how to make an elderberry elixir.
  • Japanese moxibustion demonstration and lesson on how to practice at home.
  • Everyone will take home an elderberry elixir kit and a moxibustion kit.

About Erin Wilkins

Erin Wilkins is an Asian American herbalist and Japanese style acupuncturist.  Her work is rooted in TCM and Japanese energetic medicine—tapping into her own ancestral healing traditions to empower others to restore health and prevent illness. A seasoned educator, her classes include seasonal wellness, self care workshops, Asian American herbalism and folk traditions. Erin is the owner of Herb Folk, an Asian American herb shop and clinic in Petaluma, CA. She is a member of the Sonoma County JACL and a proud Yonsei.  To learn more visit

The Sonoma County Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League, the nation’s oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization, was founded in 1934 and continues to expand its involvement in cultural, civil rights, and community activities, hosting a wide range of activities and collaborating with other ethnic and civil and human rights organizations.
