AAPI Safety Map App Focus Group

The Center is hosting a focus group to assist a local volunteer software developer gather community feedback on a phone app for reporting and mapping incidents of anti-Asian hate, harassment or intimidation. The app is intended to provide victims or witnesses to incidents of hate or harassment to submit a report of incidents which will then be used to populate a map that users can see if particular locations or areas have had incidents occur and for users to determine if they should maintain heightened caution and awareness of their surrounding in those places. Interested individuals of several age groups will be selected for participation in the focus group to provide feedback on the app’s features and usability.

Your responses will be reviewed by the app developer to determine selection of focus group participants. All information submitted will be kept confidential and will not be shared with third parties. Selection for participation is not guaranteed. We will notify you no later than Wednesday, July 28 if you are selected to participate in the August 1 focus group at the Center. Participation in the focus group is voluntary and without compensation.
