Even though we can’t get together in person while we shelter in place for our usual Community Kitchen nights, our Community Kitchen committee is holding our monthly virtual potlucks so we can share the joy of cooking Japanese and Japanese American family recipes with everyone! The theme for August’s virtual potluck is summer obon and matsuri recipes, so share all those great summer recipes that we’ve all missed with physical obon bazaars and summer matsuri having been cancelled this summer! Whether it’s teriyaki chicken, futomaki and inari or shave ice, let’s share in the nostalgia and deliciousness that come with summer obon foods! Be sure to prepare your favorite dish in advance so you can show it off to everyone on your webcam!
