DSCF2322Instructor: Genevieve Lim

Our weekly writing workshops will focus on memoir. Our API community has experienced much historical oppression from past to present that have impacted our personal and family lives from the consequences of the Chinese Exclusion Act to the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II concentration camps to the anti-Asian violence that has been fueled throughout the pandemic until present.  A communal, open space for mutual sharing, encouragement and support provided by this workshop will allow our stories, poems and personal histories to unfold with respect and confidentiality. Weekly writing prompts and exercises will be given to initiate the writing process and to keep the creative juices flowing. All levels are allowed as this workshop encourages personal voice.
