Come to the JCCCNC on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 1:00pm for a special reading of the new book, Samurai Rising — The Epic Life of Minamoto Yoshitsune with the book’s author, Pamela S. Turner. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Young adult and older readers alike will be enthralled by Turner’s depiction of the life of Minamoto Yoshitsune, one of Japan’s most famous legendary samurai warriors of the 12th Century Heian era. Minamoto’s real life history is a sweeping tale of daring feats, bravery, revellion and revenge. Along with bold illustrations by artist Gareth Hinds, the book is sure to captivate readers and spark an interest in the historical sagas of feudal Japan.
