Nikkei Youth Scholarship

Starts: Wednesday, March 1, 2017
Drawing: Saturday, May 6, 2017

We would like to present our 2017 Nikkei Youth Raffle, which has provided invaluable opportunities for the youth of our community to build, engage, collaborate and learn.   Proceeds from this year’s raffle will provide much-needed funds for JCCCNC youth programs and the over 3,000 children, youth and families served annually.

Some of our youth programs and activities include:

  • Annual Kodomo no Hi Children’s Day Festival
  • Annual Halloween Carnival
  • Bambi
  • Children’s Day Kimono Dressing
  • Children’s Day School Visits Program
  • Colma Cemetery Clean-up Day
  • Community Kitchen
  • Girls Summer League Basketball
  • Hula Keiki Class
  • Mochitsuki Workshops
  • Nikkei Community Internship Program
  • Shinzen Nikkei Youth Goodwill Program
  • Taiko Class
  • Takahashi Youth Ambassador Fellowship Program

In order to continue building and improving our youth programs, we would like to ask for your help in selling or purchasing raffle tickets for you, your friends or family members using the enclosed form or by sharing our website with them at JCCCNC.ORG. Raffle tickets are * $6 each * six tickets for $30 or * twelve for $60 *. The Grand Prize is two round-trip economy airline tickets, good for travel to anywhere in the continental United States. The drawing will be held at our 25th Annual Children’s Day Festival on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Japan Center Peace Plaza. Ticket stubs will be mailed along with an acknowledgement letter upon receipt of payment.

You may purchase tickets in person, by phone, by fax or by mail.  Internet and email entries will not be accepted.  However, raffle reservations may be made on our website by the purchaser and the order processed by JCCCNC staff member at our office.

Ultimately, we believe your donation and the experiences of our youth go hand-in-hand as youth bring with them a new vision and strength to continue to preserve and promote our Japanese American cultural heritage and Japantown community.
