Monthly Cooking Class and Family-Style Dinner for Young Adults and Professionals
Tuesday, November 29, 2016
6:30pm-8:30pm @ JCCCNC
$10 JCCCNC Members, $15 General Public
Come out to our next Baachan’s Kitchen session, our series of monthly cooking classes and communal meals for young adults and professionals! Every month, Baachan’s Kitchen will feature a real baachan (grandmother) from our community who will share and teach family favorite Japanese American comfort food recipes. Following the cooking, participants will enjoy a family-style dinner with the dishes they have learned and helped prepare. Baatchan’s Kitchen is a unique way to pass down culinary cultural knowledge and to provide a chance for young adults in the community to connect with both their peers and senior members of the community in a fun and relaxed social setting. Grab your friends and join us for dinner!
November Menu: Hawaiian Corned Beef Hash Patties and Tuna Macaroni Salad
This month’s featured baachan and jiichan are Lowell and Donna Kimura. Lowell is a local Japantown certified public accountant, and Donna currently serves as the President of the JCCCNC’s Board of Directors. They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren, with a third on the way!SIGN UP
