Guided Meditation for Seniors

Instructor: Kyoko Kimura
$4 Center Members, $5 General Public
Walk-ins and Beginners Welcome!

Join us on Wednesday afternoons for meditation with guided meditation instructor Kyoko Kimura. Kyoko specializes in Raja Yoga Meditation, a form of Hindu yoga intended for practitioners to achieve control over the mind and emotions. Findings from studies on the benefits of guided meditation go beyond reducing levels of stress and anxiety, and also include many beneficial physiological effects associated with lowered levels of stress and stimulation. We encourage anyone looking for an opportunity to mindfully engage in the healing and therapeutic effects of meditation to join us for our weekly meditation class!

About our instructor: Kyoko Kimura was born in Yokohama, Japan, and immigrated to the USA in 1987. She has been studying Raja Yoga Meditation for 18 years and teaching meditation classes at the San Francisco Brahma Kumaris Center since 2005. Kyoko leads workshops and retreats on topics including: ‘Positive Thinking,’ ‘Self-Empowerment,’ ‘Healthy Relationships,’ ‘The Power of Silence,’. at the SF center, the Anubhuti Retreat Center in Novato, CA., and Brahma Kumaris centers in Japan. Kyoko also coordinates children’s programs and a one-day summer camp with value-based activities and lessons from the Living Values Educational Program. Kyoko has a BA in Music Education and MA in Flute performance, and currently teaches instrumental music in elementary schools in San Francisco.  She also plays the healing harp and flute music for meditation at various locations.
